A good feed
Busy Mum?
Full time worker?
Cash strapped student?
Whoever you are, we all need our five a day.
Fresh fruit & veg provide us with essential vitamins, minerals anti-oxidants, fibre & water that our bodies need to work well, protect us from disease & grow strong bones, hair, skin & teeth. To ensure we eat 5 portions a day, we should incorporate fruit & veg into every meal as well making it the first choice for a snack.
Some of the benefits when we eat healthy are
: Reduced risk for stroke & cardiovascular diseases
Reduced risk for type 2 diabetes
Protect against certain cancers such as mouth, stomach and colon-rectum cancer
Helps decrease bone loss & reduce the risk of developing kidney stones
No fruits or vegetables have cholesterol & most are naturally low in fat & calories and are a great source of vitamins & minerals.
Eating a diet high in whole grains can help with weight management & provide an excellent source of Magnesium to build healthy bones & release energy from muscles.

Get lost
Don’t you always feel great when you’ve had a relaxing break & get away from the daily routine of feeling like your stuck in “Ground Hog” day?
You get up at the same time every day, pass the same people at the same point every morning on the way to work. Even going home you go the same way & see those same people again only to get home where you continue in your routine, go to bed then get up the next day & do it all over again!
Take a break, your body and everyone else will thank you for it!
Did you know that taking a vacation can have the following benefits?
Stave off burn out – workers who take regular time out to relax are less likely to experience burnout, making them more creative & productive.
Can keep us healthy – taking time out re-charges our batteries, thereby keeping our stress levels lower, better quality of sleep & improved mood.
Can strengthen relationships – spending time & enjoying life with loved ones can strengthen relationships, helping you enjoy the good times more & handle the stress when times are hard.
Relieves stress in lasting ways – it’s no surprise that vacations with plenty of free time reduce stress but did you know that you can experience less stressful days for up to 5 weeks after a vacation
… it’s like a gift to yourself that keeps on giving!

Find yourself again
We all need that “something” that drives us, a passion in life …
it can be totally different for each one of us but one thing is true,
we are DNA coded to be passionate about certain life events.
Direction – what’s more enjoyable, being lost in a strange city or knowing exactly where to go? A definite purpose in life can give us an emotional benefit.
Meaningful – knowing what our passions are provides meaning because we know whats important in our lives. It lets us concentrate on that 20% of life that generally yields 80% of life’s satisfaction.
Energy – passion is energy, we “naturally” participate in activities that align with our passion. Passion is the fuel source which drives us to achieve what we’re passionate about.
Difference – it’s a comforting feeling knowing we’ve made a difference, contributing & having a positive influence on the lives of those we touch.
Consider the purpose-filled & passionate lives of Billy Graham, Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela to mention a few.
Each became involved in a cause greater than self.
There is no doubt that these individuals made a positive difference in the lives they touched.
Resiliency – passion fuels our resiliency, which is how quickly we bounce back when we get the wind knocked out of our sails. John D Rockefella provided an excellent summary
“I always try to turn every disaster into an opportunity”
later in life, get active now!
