Life

If you knew you were going to die next month wouldn’t you make a few changes and prepare?

Most of us seem to think we are eternal in this physical body and never think about the day it all ends. The truth is, it will end … we just don’t know when, maybe in 20 years, maybe 6 months, maybe tonight!

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Mum, a Dad, a kid or a business partner, it will happen and wouldn’t you want to leave those you care about financially healthy?

I’ve experienced death first hand and seen what a little fore thought can do for those left behind, covering debt and providing funds for security and future education.

In the case of business partners, providing funds to secure company shares and the survival of the business.

Trauma

Most of us seem to think we are eternal in this physical body and never think about the day it all ends. The truth is, it will end … we just don’t know when, maybe in 20 years, maybe 6 months, maybe tonight!

No body knows, like death trauma can enter our lives at any time … young or old!

Trauma or Critical Illness as it is sometimes referred to will pay a lump sum if you suffer from one of a number of critical illness’s or conditions.

The diagnosis of a serious illness is devastating in any circumstance but the stress of financial debt can make it worse & in some cases hinder the recovery.

I had a close friend suffer from a brain tumour aged 40, the condition was terminal however the lump sum provided some relief in the form of an overseas holiday while he was still able to enjoy it & spend time with those he loved.

You could suffer a stoke aged 50 or you could have a child involved in an accident who suffers a major head injury requiring constant care over a long period, either way your life would never be the same.

A lump sum of money puts you in some form of control being able to decide if you take a holiday or try some new form of treatment not covered under your medical policy

Disability

Do you know your best asset?
it’s your ability to work & earn an income!

It’s true, when you’re young you think your invincible & don’t tend to dwell on the future. Maybe that’s why my son now passes me when we’re out riding motorbikes, I think about having to be at work on monday he just lives for the day!

If you’re employed, fine …
you’ll have so many weeks of sick leave

But what if you suffer an illness that means you are unable to work for years? The boss may be understanding in the short term but they will replace you & ACC doesn’t cover illness’s.

If you’re self employed it’s worse,
especially in a small to medium size firm where you are essential to the operation.

Unfortunately business is business & if your opposition see’s an opening, they will do their best to secure your customers who are probably already worried that you may not be around for some time.
